Paris, June 14, 2023: In his speech at the ‘Vision Golfe 2023’ conference, the main business event between Gulf countries and France, Mr. Faisal Ali Abdulwahhab Al Mutawa, Chairman and CEO of Ali Abdulwahab Al Mutawa Commercial Co, highlighted the importance of the trade relations between the private sectors of Kuwait and France.

The conference, held under the patronage of French President Mr. Emmanuel Macron and attended by French Minister of Economy Mr. Bruno Le Maire, served as a platform to strengthen economic ties between the two parties. The conference took place on June 13th and 14th at the Ministry of Economy and Finance in Paris.

Mr. Al Mutawa said that the relationship of AAW with the French private sector is strong and based on the values of partnership, cooperation, and common interest. He stated, “Our ties to the French private sector are well-founded and built on the values of partnership, cooperation, and mutual benefit. Together, we work in partnership to aid the growth of Kuwait’s healthcare sector and bring cutting-edge pharmaceutical and consumer products to the country, directly contributing to people’s health and quality of life.”

Speaking to a diverse audience of business leaders from France and Gulf countries, Al Mutawa said that “Despite being a relatively small country with a population of about 4.4 million, Kuwait’s healthcare budget today is approximately USD 8 billion – or 6% of Kuwait’s GDP of recent years, which is double that of high-income countries. As demographics and lifestyles change, the next 25 years require a new kind of public-private partnership. A partnership that increases efficiency and lowers public expenditure, and ends bureaucracy.”

Al Mutawa continued, “Today, the health care sector in Kuwait is burdened with high operational costs and red-tape primarily because the public sector assumes all responsibilities. While the state possesses the material capabilities to build hospitals, it lacks effective management. Yes, our government possesses the financial means to build large hospitals in Kuwait, but what they lack is proficient management. If we succeed today in attracting international health centers and benefiting from their experience and attracting them to Kuwait, we will certainly witness a great development in health care efficiency, budget savings, and higher quality of health services.”

Vision Golfe 2023 is an annual conference that aims to enhance commercial cooperation between France and the GCC countries by showcasing France’s renowned excellence and industrial expertise, its strength in key sectors, and its robust policies. Over a two-day period, the conference addressed a wide range of topics, including the best practices for establishing sustainable partnerships and exploring investment opportunities in sectors such as space, digital transformation, green industry, renewable energy, biotechnology, culture, consumer goods, cosmetics and fashion, food, transportation and logistics, and healthcare.

شارك السيد المطوع في جلسة نقاشية بعنوان “نحو مستقبل صحي أفضل في دول الخليج: مواجهة التحديات واستغلال الفرص”

المطوع: “إن البيئة التنظيمية في الكويت تتجه نحو التغيير، وستشهد تحولاً جذرياً، مما سيخلق فرص جديدة للتعاون مع شركات القطاع الخاص الفرنسية، لتحسين جودة الرعاية الصحية في البلاد

المطوع: “يعاني قطاع الرعاية الصحية في الكويت من ارتفاع التكاليف والبيروقراطية الناتجة عن تولي القطاع العام معظم المسؤوليات بنفسه. وإنه على الرغم من وجود إمكانيات الدولة المادية لبناء المستشفيات، إلا أنه ينقصها الإدارة الفعالة”.

باريس 14 يونيو 2023: خلال مشاركته في مؤتمر “رؤية الخليج 2023 Vision Golfe” المنعقد في باريس وتحت رعاية الرئيس الفرنسي السيد/ إيمانويل ماكرون، أكد رئيس مجلس الإدارة والرئيس التنفيذي في شركة علي عبدالوهاب المطوع السيد/ فيصل علي عبدالوهاب المطوع على متانة العلاقات التجارية بين القطاع الخاص الكويتي والفرنسي.

وأتت كلمة السيد/ المطوع في إحدى الجلسات النقاشية الرئيسية في اليوم الأول للمؤتمر والتي كانت بعنوان “نحو مستقبل صحي أفضل في دول الخليج: مواجهة التحديات واستغلال الفرص”. ويذكر أن المؤتمر سيكون حدثاً سنوياً ومن أهم المؤتمرات التي تُعنى بالعلاقات التجارية بين فرنسا ودول مجلس التعاون الخليجي، ويقام في الفترة من 13-14 يونيو 2023 في وزارة الاقتصاد والمالية في باريس تحت رعاية رئيس الجمهورية الفرنسية، السيد / إيمانويل ماكرون، وبحضور وزير الاقتصاد الفرنسي، السيد/ برونو لو مير.

وأكد السيد المطوع في مطلع حديثه على متانة علاقة شركة علي عبدالوهاب المطوع التجارية والقطاع الخاص الكويتي بالقطاع الخاص الفرنسي وأنها مبنية على قيم الشراكة والتعاون والمصلحة المشتركة، قائلاً: “نثمن علاقتنا الوطيدة مع الشركات الفرنسية الخاصة، فنحن نعمل معاً منذ وقت طويل كشركاء لدعم نمو قطاع الرعاية الصحية في الكويت وتوفير منتجات طبية وصيدلانية وتجميلية واستهلاكية متطورة في البلاد، التي من شأنها أن تؤثر مباشرة على تحسين حياة الناس.”

وقال المطوع: “على الرغم من أننا دولة صغيرة نسبياً ولكن الميزانية المخصصة للرعاية الصحية في الكويت اليوم تبلغ حوالي 8 مليارات دولار أمريكي – أو 6% من الناتج المحلي الإجمالي في السنوات الأخيرة، وهو ضعف ميزانية البلدان ذات الدخل المرتفع. ومع تغيير التركيبة السكانية وأنماط الحياة، فإن السنوات الـ 25 القادمة تتطلب نوعاً جديداً من التعاون بين القطاع الخاص الكويتي والفرنسي بهدف زيادة الكفاءة وتخفيض الإنفاق العام والحد من البيروقراطية.”

وأضاف: “اليوم، يعاني قطاع الرعاية الصحية في الكويت من ارتفاع التكاليف والبيروقراطية الناتجة عن تولي القطاع العام معظم المسؤوليات بنفسه. وإنه على الرغم من وجود إمكانيات الدولة المادية لبناء المستشفيات، إلا أنه ينقصها الإدارة الفعالة. فإذا نجحنا اليوم في جذب المراكز الصحية العالمية والاستفادة من خبرتها واستقطابها إلى الكويت، فسنشهد بالتأكيد تطوراً كبيراً في كفاءة الرعاية الصحية، وتوفيراً في الميزانية، وجودة أعلى في الخدمات الصحية.”

واختتم قائلاً: “إن البيئة التنظيمية في الكويت تتجه نحو التغيير، وستشهد تحولاً جذرياً، مما سيخلق فرص جديدة لتحسين جودة الرعاية الصحية في البلاد. لذلك فنحن نتطلع اليوم لنكون جزءاً من هذا التغيير كما نسعى إلى تعزيز شراكتنا مع شركات القطاع الخاص الفرنسية، لمساعدتنا في مواجهة التحديات القادمة لنكون جزءاً من هذا التحول ولتحقيق مستقبل أكثر صحة في الكويت.”

يهدف مؤتمر رؤية الخليج إلى تعزيز التعاون التجاري بين فرنسا ودول مجلس التعاون الخليجي من خلال تسليط الضوء على التميز والخبرة الصناعية التي تشتهر بها فرنسا وقدرتها في القطاعات الرئيسية وسياستها القوية. وقد تناول المؤتمر مجموعة متنوعة من المواضيع، حيث ناقش أفضل الممارسات لبناء الشراكات المستدامة وفرص الاستثمار في قطاعات مثل الفضاء، والتحول الرقمي، والصناعة الخضراء، والطاقة المتجددة، والتكنولوجيا الحيوية، والثقافة، والسلع الاستهلاكية، ومستحضرات التجميل والأزياء، والغذاء، والنقل والخدمات اللوجستية، والرعاية الصحية. كما وأُتيحت الفرصة للحاضرين للمشاركة في أكثر من 1000 اجتماع إلى جانب حلقات نقاش وورش عمل، بهدف تعزيز التفاعلات الهادفة وتسهيل تبادل المعرفة.
