Bayan Investment Co announced its platinum sponsorship to the fifth Gala Dinner of the Children Cancer Center in Lebanon, which was held on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Kuwait Sheraton Hotel, under the patronage and major partnership of Mr. Faisal Ali Al Mutawa – Chairman and Managing Director – Bayan Investment Company – for the fifth consecutive year, and a generous support of many others.
 

The Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL), established in Beirut – Lebanon in 2002, is a unique regional center for the comprehensive treatment of pediatric cancer. An affiliate of the Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis – Tennessee – United States of America, which was founded in 1962 by “Danny Thomas”, the late entertainer of Lebanese descent. The center works in close association with The American University of Beirut, Medical Center, and is located in its premises.
 

As CCCL is embarking on its seventh year, more than 600 patients from Lebanon and the Arab Countries including Gulf Countries have been treated or are still undergoing treatment. In addition, CCCL offered and still offering preliminary diagnosis testing freely to hundreds of children from other hospitals, where the average survival rate at the center exceeds 80% and 390 patients have already finished their treatment successfully.
 

The importance of the Center lays on paying all the costs of treatment that are not covered by private and public insurance or third party payers, without putting financial burdens on families not covered by insurance or third party payers.

بيان راعي بلاتيني للحفل الخيري السنوي الخاص بعلاج أطفال مرضى السرطان في لبنان والدول العربية

أعلنت شركة بيان للاستثمار عن مشاركتها كراعي رئيسي للعشاء الخيري الخاص بمركز سرطان الأطفال في لبنان والمزمع إقامته في دولة الكويت مساء السبت المقبل في فندق الشيراتون تحت رعاية سمـو الشــيخ ناصـر المحمد الأحمـد الصـباح رئيس مجلس الوزراء، علما بأن السـيـد/ فيصل علي المطوع رئيس مجلس الإدارة والعضو المنتدب لشركة بيان للاستثمار يعتبر الداعم الرئيسي لمركز سرطان الأطفال في الكويت .

وتأتي هذه الرعاية ضمن مجموعة من المساهمات والمبادرات التي تقدمها شركة بيان للاستثمار في نطاق نشاطها الاجتماعي والإنساني ضمن دورها وواجبها كإحدى المؤسسات الرائدة في خدمة المجتمع، ومن المعروف أن مركـز سـرطان الأطـفال في لبنان قد تأسس في 12 إبريل 2002 نتيجة اتفاق وشراكة ثلاثية بين مجلس أمناء مركز سرطان الأطفال في لبنان، والجامعة الأمريكية في بيروت، ومستشفى أبحاث الأطفال في ممفيس- تينيسي- الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية والذي أسسها الممثل اللبناني الأصل داني توماس.

ويهدف المركز إلى تقديم علاج طبي رائد يتماشى والبروتوكول الطبي المقدم في مستشفى أبحاث الأطفال في مدينة ممفيس، والذي يعتبر اليوم من أوائل المستشفيات في العالم في مجال مكافحة سرطان الأطفال حيث يزيد متوسط نجاح العلاج على 80 في المئة.

وتكمن أهمية المركز في استقبال وتقديم الخدمات الطبية إلى جميع الأطفال المصابين من مختلف الدول العربية والخليجية دون تحميل الأهل أي أعباء مالية أي علاج بالمجان، علما بأن متوسط علاج الطفل المصاب بسرطان الدم أو اللوكيميا يبلغ 25 ألف دولار سنويا ويزداد ليصل إلى 100 ألف دولار خلال ثلاث سنوات من العلاج.
